My favorite quote not so long ago...
"Everybody's got to believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer!"
- W. C. Fields.
Here's to sobriety! I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for giving me the strength and something else to believe in!
Born of the flesh August 29, 1967. Once lived a life in darkness, born again on June 3rd, 2011 of the Holy Spirit. Now walking in the light with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, living a life worth living! Victory to all who bring Jesus Christ into their life! Amen, hallelujah!
Walk in the light
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk
as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness,
and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship
with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is
shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.
But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever
makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: "Awake, you who sleep, Arise
from the dead, And Christ will give you light." (Ephesians 5:8-14 NKJV)
I was born in Canandaigua, NY; Raised in Honeoye Falls, Rochester, and Phoenix Arizona. Currently residing in Chili, New York. I come from a family of 5, I have two older sisters and two younger brothers. I am the Son of Craig Sr., and the late Rosemary H Bradshaw. I have been Married to my wonderful wife, my best friend, Kimberley A Bradshaw (Cody) since 1992 who I love very much. We met in 1991. We were married with radio show host Brother Wease of then 96 WCMF, the 2nd year he did "Numerous Nuptials", a valentines day wedding with about 50 other couples at the Maple Dale Party House in Rochester, NY. Judge Bristol Married us all. It was pretty cool! I always thought it would be neat to do a reunion with all the couples that may still be married. it's been 20 years already! Time flies when your having fun!
My wife and I have two sons, Justin who is 20 years old and all grown up living on his own! Very proud of him! He works for Wegmans Corporate in the IT field. Christopher 23 who still lives at home, who gets to pay a monthly rent! Works for Rural Metro Ambulance Dispatching all the EMT calls, very cool! He also volunteers as an EMT and Fireman for Chili, NY. I am also proud of him! He has the passion to help people as much as he can. He would give the shirt of his back to you if you needed it!
First I would like to say "pardon my French" If you
asked me years ago if I would be living a life as a Christian? I would have
said... "Hell no!" "I don't need God!" Let me tell you this...
"I was so wrong!" "Everyone needs God!" He gives us the strength
and ability to live stress free and much more happier lives. Even when there
are those ups and downs that everyone has.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13)
I have been intrigued with Christ and our God since I saw the movie "Passion of the Christ" in 2004. I wanted to learn more about the story, but found out there was more than just a story! It was a way of life! After my mother passed away suddenly in 2002 I had a new outlook on life, my theme was "Forget about yesterday, don't worry about tomorrow, right here, right now!" You never know what lies ahead, you never know what is gonna happen with your life it can end suddenly, life is precious, enjoy it while you can!
Besides the usual ups and downs in life I think my life has been pretty damn good! Especially with my wife Kimberley by my side, and her support through the tough times. If you knew me before I met her you would have seen all the good she did for me. But there always seemed to be something missing. I never could quite figure out what it was. All I know is I felt that there could be more. I was definitely stuck in a rut. Married, 2 kids, living pay check to pay check, a professional alcoholic who drank 7 days a week which by the way started to get very old. I was always looking for something better, something stronger. I could drink a whole bottle of whisky straight up and not be drunk.
Anyway... After listening to the Christian radio channels for a couple of years, Attempting to read and understand this book they call the Bible, "which by the way most of it really made no sense to me at all". Listening to Greg Laurie's radio program in the car was a big help. Greg was able to put the Bible in terms that made it easier to understand. At the end of his programs I would always follow through with the prayer for forgiveness of my sins but I never really felt any sense of change. One day I realized I was ready for the next step, going to church and being with other believers. My wife would always tell me we can go to church if you want. I will go with you. But we never went. Besides that, I still had this problem of drinking. As a matter of fact I used to read the Bible while I was drinking! That was just so wrong in itself!
One Friday after work I came home and opened the refrigerator as I always did to grab another beer. Something came over me... I saw two Guinness beers on the top shelf a bottle of wine, and 2 Woodchuck Ciders that belonged to my wife, at that moment I said to myself I am going to drink all this alcohol and I am never going to drink again! I proceeded to finish it all off, went to bed that night and never touched another drink! That was June 3rd 2011. That following Sunday was my first day going to church and it was the best thing I could have ever done in my entire life! The switch was turned on, I was filled with the Holy Spirit, God was working in my life, I could now read the Bible and understand what I was reading! It all made sense! I now enjoy going to church and living a life worth living! Amen! Hallelujah!Trust In The Lord With All Your Heart And Lean Not On Your Own Understanding. Acknowledge Him In All Your Ways And He Shall Direct Your Paths. (Proverbs 3:5,6)
